What We Do

DLIELC is a Department of Defense organization that provides English language training for approximately 3,000 international students from 120 countries each year. The institution is supported by an Instruction Branch (General English, Specialized English, and Advanced English), Testing Branch, and Curriculum Branch.

International Military Students, at the invitation of the U.S. Government, study at DLIELC to improve their English skills before advancing to other U.S. installations for technical and professional training or return home to be English teachers or managers of English training programs for their respective countries.

Additionally, DLIELC provides English Language training to U.S. military service members whose primary language is not English.

Classes are small, usually 6-10 students, and are organized by proficiency level. Instructors spend six periods with their assigned students daily. The DLIELC campus offers a comprehensive academic environment for the faculty and students. DLIELC is open year-round and work hours are from 7:15am to 4:00pm Monday-Friday.
