Features of the American Language Course Second Edition, Major Revision (ALC2-MR):
The newly constructed ALC2-MR offers a modernized curriculum designed to enhance learning outcomes. The program is organized into six progressive levels (Levels I–VI), encompassing 34 books that guide learners from elementary to advanced English proficiency.
• Communicative Tasks:
Learners share information with a partner or a group to enhance their
interactive communication skills.
• Task-Based Activities:
Learners work with a partner or a group to accomplish a realistic task or
set of tasks.
• Content-Based Activities:
Learners are exposed to authentic course materials relevant to their
language learning needs.
• Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA):
Learners are exposed to vocabulary that is
current and relevant based on the world’s largest collection of written and spoken American-
English words and phrases.
In addition to incorporating modern instructional strategies and updated visuals, this textbook series will align with other modernization efforts including integration into the Atlas (Blackboard) Learning Management System (LMS). The product will be offered in both print and digital format.
